I used to, and still occasionally play irish folk, celtic, contra, cowboy and swing with a band called Wild Mountain Tyme, or Pockets of Gold, Loose Gravel , Empty Pockets or Turkeys in the Straw depending on their mood. Legendary Big Gerry was part of this conglomerate, and has several cds out, search for him. We also boasted Nickolas Buckmelter as a member, search for him also.
I can't read classical notation worth a tinker's dam, and am always looking for a new way to learn tunes quickly. I found Tabledit to be worthwhile, try a search for it on the web.
I have re-located to the green (always) Santa Cruz Mountains of California, but most of these folks live in the Eastern High Sierra part of California. I miss my musical friends and I long for the majestic mountains of that area.
