octogreg

Greg James from Toronto, Canada.

I play an octave mandolin made by Otis Thomas of Cape Breton. See www.fiddletree.com for a picture. I also play an old Slingerland tenor banjo in serious need of a new fretboard. For people who are interested in this kind of thing, they each have a 21" scale and are tuned GDAE an octave below the fiddle. I use them for melody playing.

When playing beyond the walls of the family room, I can usually be found in The Black Swan on Thursday nights.
