Sean Williams

I am a professor of ethnomusicology at The Evergreen State College, specializing in Irish music. My MA thesis was on the vocal ornamentation of the sean-nós singer Joe Heaney (Ph.D. on Indonesian music). I am currently writing an Irish music textbook for Routledge publishing (due in 2009) and a critical biography of Joe Heaney for Oxford University Press (also due in 2009). I started playing the fiddle about six years ago.
