Hi! I live near Burlington, VT and started playing the fiddle about one year ago after attending the class for absolute beginner players at Gaelic Roots. Progress is very slow as I had no previous experience playing an instrument but the comments here keep me going as I realize everyone struggles! I also do Irish Step Dancing - also begun after turning 40. But everything I do in life I start late (i.e. started medical school in my 30's with 2 young children at home). I have met many new friends since re-discovering Irish music (my grandparents are from Ireland and I grew up listening to traditional music).
