Sweetbriar
I'm an herbalist living the Gila Wilderness of New Mexico on an 80 acre botanical/wildlife sanctuary surrounded on all sides by National Forest. I'm seven river crossings from the nearest paved road and live without running water and with limited solar powered electricity. Needless to say, I love all things old-timey, and have had a penchant for Irish Traditional Music since I was a little girl in the Appalachians and my mother played use tunes on her fiddle and pennywhistle. I also love old Appalachian tunes and the mountain music of the SW.
I've played piano, guitar, silver flute, pennywhistle, fiddle and assorted other noisemakers throughout my life but I primarily play wooden flute and whistle at this point.
I teach, write and practice herbalism in this river canyon in the Mogollon Mountains. If you'd like to read some of my ramblings on plants, place and a bit of flute here and there you can check out http://bearmedicineherbals.com
