Merry Mary

I'm a new violin player. I started in August, 2006 at the age of 41. My lessons are a mix of classical and Irish/Canadian tunes.

I have been Irish dancing for about 10 years, and doing Ottawa Valley & PEI dancing for about 4 years.

I played piano as a kid, but dancing and fiddling are my favorites by far.

My husband has been playing and singing professionally since he was about 17. He plays piano, guitar, fiddle, banjo, whistle, sax, charango (it's a South American instrument that looks like a ukelele), and anything I let him buy. I think the session players put up with me so he'll keep coming.

Favorite joke: The difference between a dressmaker and a fiddler is that the dressmaker tucks up the frills.
