Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, I grew up in the heavily Irish neighborhood of South Buffalo. I've played guitar for 22 years, and for a while I tried to play trad tunes on guitar, in standard tuning and then experimenting with DADGAD tuning, but I wasn't satisfied. So I picked up a MANDOLIN 2 years ago and quickly became smitten. Then I got a BOUZOUKI a year ago. Now I find that I play less and less guitar on trad tunes more mando/zouk.
I started a folk/trad band last year called Crikwater. We play a bunch of songs from the ballad tradition and also play a healthy dose of trad tunes for good measure.
