Jusa Nutter Eejit

Phoenix, Arizona, USA - Tenor Banjo

I got hooked on the stuff while listening to my grandparents old ceili band records when I was a little boy. Over the course of my 40 plus years I have played rock, ska, blues, country, funk and even punk - but none of that stuff has ever filled me up like this music does. I picked up the tenor banjo in 1994 or so and have been chasing down the tunes and melodies of my childhood ever since. I live in Phoenix with my wife and three sons.

Why "Jusa Nutter Eejit?"
It was the way I was introduced at my very first session. "Who's that fella?" says the flute player motioning to me - "Oh - jusa nutter eejit" says the fiddle player. I remind myself of this little story whenever I start to get a little too high on my own horse or open my big yap to say something inappropriate - (which I am very often tempted to do)

Favorite quotes on related matters:

"Some people have a nationality, Irish and Jews have a psychosis" - Brendan Behan

"If this is wrong, you'll be the one who has to leave. I'm Irish, I'll stick with something that's wrong my whole life" - Matt Damon in The Departed

"An Irishman is forced to talk to the Almighty in order to find his equal..." - "Stephen" from the movie Braveheart
