I'm from Middlesbrough, England and have been playing the fiddle for about 17years as it was beaten into me by my father. As a teenager I was too cool for it but now I'm glad he made me stick with it as I've met loads of people as a result and find it breaks down a lot of social barriers. My fiddle accompanied around the world and I was the one who started the session in Fado, Chicago on a Monday night in the summer of 2001. Glad to see they've kept it lit!
