Hi. I'm a visual artist by trade, and have conflicting obsessions with both art and music. I've been listening to Irish music since the 70's---when I was smitten with the music of the Bothy Band, De Danann, Chieftains, Barde, Kathleen Collins and Planxty. I started playing mandolin at that time, although I really wanted to play the fiddle.. . So I finally started playing the fiddle 6 years ago (and love it to bits) and have just started playing anglo concertina....what fun!!!....My husband is a piper and whistle player (Scottish smallpipes, border pipes etc.) We tend to play a mixture of Scottish, English, French and Breton tunes together, although my focus is on Irish......I wish someone had warned me what an infectious disease this would be, but I would have believed it? Probably not....!!
