Hi! I am a university student (in art), and I decided to try learning the tin whistle a few days ago (as of April 7th). I have found it to be a lot of fun (more than schoolwork x) ), and I *love* thesession.org! I had a slight flirtation with it a few years ago searching for fiddle tunes, and now here I am again, but this time with the tin whistle.
I played violin in middle and high school, but not really very well. So I don't really consider myself a musician - I just sometimes play for fun. It's really my love of listening to celtic/Irish music that motivates me to try playing sometimes.
I use a Waltons D tin whistle ... bought it on Amazon for 8 dollars. x) I love the price of these things. :)
