I started in music in the '40s on saxophone and continued in the Navy until '53. Gave it up until about '83 when I started learning celtic tunes on the recorder for contra dancing. Switched to whistle in the late '80s and now have several Pat O'Riordan whistles and a Howard low D. Also play bodhran, harmonica and am back playing saxophone in 10-17 piece dance bands. Over the years I've played concerts, contra dances, weddings, English country dances, coffeehouses and lots of jam sessions around Binghamton, NY.
