calden
I play cittern, guitar, and clawhammer banjo, mostly in a celtic band. I like integrating the Appalachian clawhammer style into celtic tunes, and none of us in the band would call ourselves "real" Irish musicians, for our love of stylistically wandering far afield.
I hang out at the local sessions about every other week. I'm happy to have recentlly bought a new loud Sobell cittern so I can compete with the hordes of fiddlers and guitars who often drop in.
I also produce a weekly radio show which features the unlikely but actually quite logical mix of folk, celtic, world, and kids' music. It's called The Nacho Celtic Hour and is heard weekly on our local NPR (National Public Radio) affiliate in eastern Washington State. If you're the least bit curious, go to KPBX.org and follow the links for information on the show. It is live-streamed so you can hear it if you have nothing better to do with your time on a Sunday afternoon at 2 pm, Pacific Time Zone of the United States. When I am in a Celtic mode I like to play lots of Lunasa, Andy Irvine, Battlefield Band, Bothy Band, Planxty, Roger Landes, House Band, etc.
