HI y'all,
I am a classically trained violin teacher who has branched out into specialising in the Suzuki scene 1980 onwards. I have been through the orchestral, chamber music, competition, exam scene for too long and always wanted to get into a small group. Have had a go at picking things by ear like jazz and that has helped me now in having a go at new pieces likewise. I have jumped into a Hamilton Celtic group this year after a funtastic intro at a superbly run, socially sunny, Gaidhealtachd in Whangarei Heads this past Jan. I am converting over to fiddlin' and am trying out whistling for another option too, as well as singing and dancing. I am now in a Celtic group of about a dozen called Siamsa who meet weekly for some music-making and social scene which is a beaut impetus to improve. We are regularly in touch with events around the countryside so are being fed so creatively which is expanding my soul considerably. Cheers to all other music makers!
