johnnevin

I am an amatuer musician (guitar, banjo, bouzouki) and I run the session at DEMPSEYS at Second Ave every Tues night at 8 DEMPSEYS is at 61 SECOND AVE in NYC. I also organize the SPIKE HILL session on MONDAYS in WmsBurg Brooklyn. That one is at 185 Bedford Ave. right at the L train.

My view on ITM is that if you are not keeping with ALL of the tradition, then it is not ITM. It is something else. I don't mean this purist nonsense - I am referring to keeping the tradition alive by creating welcoming environments where no one is excluded, where this great music and culture is passed on and spread to the world. This is not about egos or personal agendas.

Hope to see you in NYC sessions soon.
