Hey everybody -- I live in Maryland in the USA, near Washington DC. My session instruments are penny and low whistles.
Yes, I have seen and been up close to eagles, both bald and golden eagles. And red tail hawks as well. A red tail hawk in winter over the snow is a wonderful sight.
My father is of Scots-Irish ancestory, and my mother was born to Russian immigrants. When I was young, my dad use to say, "We are Scotsmen." But if my mother wanted to "pull his chain," she would say, "Ah, he's really Irish!" But I don't care; I like both Irish and Scotish music. Mostly I play at Irish sessions, but I hear a lot of both types of music here, at bars, contra dances and other venues. So let's all play on!
