...and so I said to myself, "I've always wanted to play the fiddle. Maybe I'll take it up now; it would be nice to have a little hobby that will keep me busy for 20 or 30 minutes at a time, on days that I feel like it..."
Didn't quite turn out that way.
I am: an Ottawa native; a Vancouver resident; a teetotaler; a mutt with no ancestral ties to the British Isles; a descendant of desert wanderers and peasants from landlocked farming communities; horribly, horribly prone to seasickness...and somehow I ended up spending an inordinate amount of time in Irish pubs singing drinking songs and sea shanties. Oh, and fiddling, which was never supposed to take over my life. I can quit anytime I want to, I swear! Heck, I quit three times yesterday alone!
I am not: a purist.
