Anglo-Irish granny, have played piano since I was 3. Been in countless bands, choirs, etc since 1960s and now happily playing piano, accordion and concertina (english, sorry) since March 2002 in 4-piece band called Betty's Kitchen, with my husband and another couple. We are all the same age (50 something) and all have similar musical tastes. Play mostly Irish tunes but are gradually increasing the number of tunes from other countries.
Also have huge indexed collection of over 600 tunes - my kids think it is 'bloody sad' but my grandchildren might appreciate it when the next folk revival comes, heh heh heh.
