I have been playing the fiddle since Oct. 2004, Mandolin since Jan. 13th 1996, Guitar since Dec. 1993. Trumpet since Dec. 1989.
My family had a band in the 1930's called Freeny's Barndance Band. They recorded on the Okeh Label. They recorded a song called "Sullivan's Hollow". The song was recently released by the Old Time band Uncle Earl.
I have a famous ancestor by the name of Captain James Freeny who was a "Highwayman" in Ireland. The movie Barry Lyndon has a character based of him. There is a fiddle tune and air called Bold Captain Freeny...alternate spellings Friney.
