INSTRUMENTS PLAYED: bouzouki, mandolin, guitar
BACKGROUND
Born and bred in Australia of Irish, Scottish and Swedish descent. Married with 2 kids, living and playing in Hobart when I can't get away to the wilderness
MUSIC
One of my great loves is writing tunes which vary in style from traditional Celtic to more contemporary influences including folk, new age, rock and jazz. My music is meant to create images of the landscape and people around me and occassionally my experiences. My tunes have consistently made the finals of the instrumental section in the Tasmanian Song Writing Awards over the last 10 years. 1993, 2nd place, 1996 2nd place, 1998 Encouragement award, 1999 1st place, 2001 1st place
CD
In 1999 I released a CD comprising 25 minutes of original accoustic instrumentals. I also play a bit of whistle and bodhran and am joined on the CD by friends on fiddle, keyboards, pipes and percussion. The CD can be ordered from Celtic Southern Cross at www.celt.com.au follow the links to Australian recordings
