My name is Rune Cygan Barslund, born 14/5 1988, I started at the age of six to play Danish, but also Irish folk music under the tuition of Bent Melvej at Viborg Music School. In addition to this, I later started to take music lessons with Pavlina Salehi. She gave me lessons in Bulgarian folk music, and in classical accordion. I attend high school and a ground course in music (MGK), under the tuition of Jytte Von Rüden who's teaching at The royal academy of music in Århus, Jutland.
Apart from that I play in an Irish band called Kasír, our new cd "Reel Irish?" was released in april 2006. The tunes are trad; written by ourselves and written by other artists such as John McCusker, Jamie McClennan, Diarmaid Moynihan, J.P. King and Ivan Milev.
The cd is recorded in october 2005 in Presshouse studio, Devon, England and produced and mixed by Mark Tucker, the producer of Flook, Fairport Convention and Paperboys.
