Flute player living in the Netherlands, born in Birmingham, UK, learnt to play during 16 years in Bangor, North Wales, mostly in a pub called the King's Arms, now long and sadly gone. I spent 3 years in Sunderland and Durham, did a lot of playing in sessions there, moved to Amsterdam when I got married. Much music to be had there, then after 4 years went to Leiden. Not so much music here now, and I play more often these days when visiting Wales and friends in Clare and Galway.
For a few years I played with a Dutch group called Hair of the Dog, nothing at all to do with the Irish-American group of the same name. A period of problems with the old lungs stopped that, but thankfully I seem to be okay again so long as I don't breath too much smoke (something of a proble, that, for a flute player).
