I've played various styles of guitar for over two-thirds of my life, but limit my Celtic playing to the mandolin, which I've sort of played for 15 years, but only begun to take seriously within the last year. I've been listening to Celtic music now for about 20 years.
As of this writing (1/27/06) I can only play 24 jigs and reels, most of which I can play from memory but can't play at anywhere near performance tempo. So far my main inspirations for tune selection are my favorite old Bothy Band medleys. These days I listen to Dervish, Lunasa, Liz Carroll, Tommy Peoples, etc.
