My retirement from teaching (mostly high school math and science) in 2003 has left me with time to focus on music, mainly Celtic tin whistle. I also play bodhran, bones, and guitar, and am working on keyboard as a result of Charlotte Lapp's inspiration at fiddle camps.
I am a regular at the Saturday afternoon sessions at Friar's Pub in Glenmore Landing, and play with the Celtic Rabbits as well. In the past I've played with Conor's Revenge in Calgary and with Talisker around the Smithers BC area, and taught tin whistle and guitar for the Calgary School Board.
When not playing music, I can often be found hiking, canoeing, riding my bicycle around town, or haunting my old alma mater, the University of Calgary.
Some tunes I play that don't seem to be up on this website yet (maybe someday I'll add a few) are:
Devil's Dream (American version)
Big Bear (John Arcand)
Burnt River Jig (Brian Pickell)
Colgrave Sound (polka?)
Derry Boat (jig)
The Griffin (hornpipe)
Hop Scotch (jig, Dave Foster)
Up the Southern Shore (jig, Rufus Guinchard)
The Mill Pond (jig)
Paul's Jig (Calvin Vollrath's Grandpa?)
Saut de Lapin (aka Reel de Gaspe; neither of the ones I play are the same as the ones here)
If anyone would care to enlighten me regarding any of the above I'd be delighted!
