Kansas City, Missouri (it is not Kansas!) I live in midtown Kansas City, I've been on the mustard board since around 2001, and I'm a part-time musician -- mandolin, 4-string mandola, guitar (dadgad and stand.), bouzouki, and dobro. I've been playing guitar for more than a generation now, the other instruments I've picked up more recently. I have played in a number of bands of various types over the years. My progression has been folk to celtic to rock (to hard core) to blues to celtic. I played rhythm guitar in an Irish band around 1986 (the Irish members have since moved out of the US, but I don't think it was because of me), so I did not start working seriously on melody until later, though the tunes stayed in my head. I am now working on both melody and backing, while thinking more about Irish music theory. I greatly appreciate ITM, as well as non-trad music. The posts on this site and all the tunes submitted have been great help on many occasions. Thanks to all!
