The Celt

I've been playing violin since I was seven or eight (About nine years now) but it was only untill four years ago, when I heard a tune called Fisher's Hornpipe (I LOVE that tune!!!!!), that I really fell for Irish music. Finding a band called Gaelic Storm further fueled my ambitions to be an Irish fiddler.
I'm trained in classical music but ya know what? I like swingin' it with my fiddle. Ahem. Anyway, I live in the most un-Irish part of the U.S. A. and that would be Louisiana. I'm letting everyone here know that I was born in the wrong part of the world, because I love fridgid, damp weather and lots of hills and forests with little fresh water creeks trickling from the ground through...... ACK! Stop me! Focus..... there, I'm better. Anyway, I really have always loved Irish music. Every Sunday evening when I was little, my family would listen to Fionna Richey's program called "The Thistle and Shamrock." I still listen to it.
I also like penny whistle and have taught myself a little (with the help of a very pathetic book). I'm not as good at the fiddle as I 'd like to be, but hopefully stumbling upon this mysterious little site will help me just a wee bit.

Slainte!!!!!!
