I live in the Llyn Peninsula of North Wales and play the banjo. I' ve loved Irish music since my student days when Planxty and the Bothy Band were in their prime. I've had a grounding in classical music , but soon realised that was of limited value! I have dabbled with guitar , mandolin and whistle all my life. A few years ago I managed to acquire a bloody good banjo and am really enjoying playing again.I met Gerry O Connor in 2005 and he was inspirational.I've also had the good fortune to have had Kieran Hanrahan as a teacher.
