chicagofiddler

I'm what they call a "returning student". Played a bit of
classical violin as a kid, but quit as soon as I could. A couple
of years back, on my 42th birthday, I decided to try irish
traditional music and went out and bought a violin. Now,
I'm what they call an obsessed personality (actually, that's
nothing new, they've been calling me that for years :). I
spend as much time as possible scratching and screeching
away making noises that I like to call music. Neglecting
work, family and friends for the love of ITM.

I live somewhere (obsessed *and* confused) north of
Santa Fe, New Mexico, deep in the heart of mariachi land.

We had a discussion recently about pets and whether they
like the music or not. I have no pets, the coyotes ate them
all :-( - but sometimes, late at night, when the moon is
casting it's beautiful, silvery light over the desert
landscape, I sit outside and play tunes - the wind rustling
in the pines as the accompainist, and the coyotes prowl
close by, their howls providing a counterpoint to the
tunes. I like to think they are howling in approval, but
they are probably just wanting me to get another cat :-)
