I'm actually Simon Wells, flute- and concertina player from Brisbane, Australia.
I play with THE MUSICAL PRIESTS and we have a regular monthly gig, but should seek more. I occasionally make it to Tuesday nights at the Irish Club in town, and to Kitty O'Shea's in Spring Hill/Paddo on a Saturd'y arvo.
I'm a tune composer, and also arrange for my a cappella quartet, which is called BLOKE'APELLA. In the less interesting part of my life I'm a school-teacher.
I have published a small collection of lesser known Celtic and Aussie tunes ( in the hope they'll get played more at sessions), and also a free online Anglo concertina tutor which is designed to supplement the standard resources ( Niall Vallely, Mick Bromwitch and Bert Levy). This tutor I think has now gone offline, but I will soon revise it and put it back up through www.concertina.net .
