Hello all. My name is Liz, but most refer to me as Lizzie. I'm 20 (3 more months til I turn 21..yay!) and live in Buffalo NY. I have been playing violin for about 12 years now and have been playing fiddle for the past 8 years. I studied classical while I was in school (orchestra & string ensembles) but I found that fiddling was my true calling. It just came to me a lot easier then the Bach pieces, which I just hated playing. Plus it gave me a way to show my Scottish/Irish heritage.
I took Irish dancing for about 5 years at Beth McCarthy's School of Irish Dance and that's when I started competing in fiddle competitions at feis's I'd go to.
I play a lot with members of Kilbrannan which is a local Irish band in Buffalo. Through Kilbrannan I met Brian, the singer of the band that I'm currently in called the Dustmen. (I'm the only girl in the band so friends refer to us as the Dustpersons to be PC) I play fiddle and mandolin in the band. I'm still mastering the mandolin...just gotta memorize some chords and I should be good..lol.
I cant think of anything else to say, so I'll go now.
