Live in the peak district just outside of Sheffield. My nearest session is at The Barrel at Bretton, near Eyam. Play several instruments - english concertina for longest, sop sax and fiddle. My brother is a pipe maker and I have a set of his mouth blown cornemuse but these come out very rarely. Play in a very long establishe women's ceilidh band based in Sheffield. Prefer scottish fiddle music just now but for a long time (and still) played English music.
In Grindleford, where I live, I set up a trad music project in local schools. This now operates as a platform for occasional workshops, concerts and a learners band for people who are keen to learn to play for dancing. Meets alt tuesday nights in Grindleford. I also host a sunday afternoon scottish / borders fiddle group which meets 1st and last sunday afternoons through winter months at Grindleford village hall.
