Mandolin, fiddle, plus other things. Took up mandolin in 2001 (just found the receipt for the one I bought at the time - it seems longer than 8 years ago). Had been playing guitar for decades but needed a change, and quickly became addicted to tune-learning. Played with other like-minded individuals but didn't go to a session until the summer of 2005. This was the start of a real steep learning curve, but found great encouragement at that particular session, which was at the Beaconsfield pub, Cambridge (it has now moved to the White Swan). I had also dared to take up the fiddle after a couple of years on the mandolin. It's getting better, folks, honest!
I'm usually to be found at The White Swan session, Mill Road, Cambridge - Monday evenings from about 9pm.
