Hello, I am Jonathan from Staunton, Virginia. I am a homeschool graduate, and have been playing Irish music for about 4 years. I play the silver flute, whistle, low whistle, guitar, and trash can lid (subsitute for bodhran!). I can also play a non-trad instrument, the mountain dulcimer. I just recently bought a hammered dulcimer; I can't wait to learn some tunes on it!
Influences/Favorite Players: Matt Molloy(of course), Joanie Madden (another silver flutist), Kevin Crawford, Altan, Mick Moloney, and Micheal Tubridy.
Also my former flute teacher, Timothy Seaman, has seriously influenced my fluting. He doesn't play ITM per se, but a "classical/folk/jazz blend" Visit his website http://www.timothyseaman.com and check out his numerous CDs. Without him, I probably wouldn't be half as good as I am now.
