My dad's dad was from West Cork and played whistle in the village band led by his father, who played flute. He (my great-grandfather) composed tunes, too, but I don't think they got recorded in any way. :/
I have an affinity for fiddlers from Munster, Sliabh Luachra and Clare alike, but I love players and tunes from elsewhere, as well (I have a fondness for pipes, Sligo reels, and Donegal mazurkas, for example).
