Discovered this site via the Mandolin Cafe/Celtic discussion page. Guitar/mandolin/banjo(plectrum style),bass, autoharp, piano(badly). Secured a publishing deal as a songwriter and decided to locate here in Nashville as it's 'the' place to be for what I do. Played professionally for a number of years on and off in a variety of situations both good and bad.(I listen to early tapes of myself and cringe in realization I was 'paid' for the performance recorded...don't even ask to hear as I'm compiling enough tapes for a decent sized fire) Organized a solo bicycle tour of Ireland and Wales a few years ago. Spent a month in Ireland, 3 weeks in Wales and completely restored my heart for music. Would recommend it to anyone. While there I purchased and played a mandolin in sessions(a guitar wouldn't fit on the bike)and am now aware of how much my 'bluegrass chops' must've annoyed the other players. Probably would've been better off with an Octave Mandolin for the way I play, but still enjoyed being there in amongst the pub-grub, pints and players.
