Tom Hanway

Originally from New York, I play 5-string banjo and guitar and now I live in Ireland. I am a studio musician and play a lot of session and in multiple genres. I'm not a purist.

I wrote and recorded tunes for Mel Bay's Complete Book of Irish & Celtic 5-String Banjo (1998), a book (101 tunes) and CD set (68 tunes).

Here's the link to my book, which has a cross-referenced Glossary:

I was recently signed to a worldwide distribution deal for digital downloads (legal MP3s) - for my catalog of CD releases, 3 albums/42 songs - as album packages, a la carte and as ringtones. I'm just went up on Amazon, Napster, Rhapsody, LaLa and others, with iTunes, Nokia and more to follow.
