Here are a few of my original tunes:
Charlie Sumner's
- Charlie was a piper I knew in my early years of playing Trad. Even though he had spent a fair amount of time in prison and was recovering from a serious drug problem, he always had a smile for other players. He passed away too young. I was thinking about him one day and this is what came out.
The actual tune is in F#m and A.

The Ram of God
- John B Keane the Irish playwright and novelist wrote 3 books that I read in succession - I wrote 3 tunes and named them after the books. This is the one that gets played the most frequently.

The High Road to Rishikesh
- This tune is derivative of Capercaillie's fill music ( so a nod to them), and is too much fun to not write down. Rishikesh is where the Beatles hung out with the Maharishi - we were there (40 years later) - no sign of the Beatles, and this tune kept swirling around in my head.
The tune is actually in Ddorian with a drone in the bass A (first 16 bars)
the 2nd 16 is in E maj.
