Hey,
My name is Tyler Shropshire, I am a 22 year-old multi-instrumentalist living in Twin Falls, Idaho. I began playing music at a very young age, (somewhere around 5 or 6), and recieved my formal training in the world of classical music. I took Piano lessons for just over 10 years to approximately the level required for a master's degree. However, I simply got burned out in the competitive environment in which the only way to succeed was to be better than everybody else and attain the label of a virtuoso. I wanted my music to be something that I could do just for the joy of playing it and so I moved off the stage and began to seriously pursue what had become my passion: ITM. Although I only recieved training in the Piano, I have become a self taught musician proficiant in 5 instruments, the Piano, Guitar, Concertina, Accordion, and the Highland Bagpipes, as well as fooling around with a few others such as the Whistle and Bodhran. I play the Highland Bagpipes professionally for such occasions as weddings, funerals, and other special events, however, my favorite instruments and the ones I spend the most time on for the simple joy of playing are the Guitar and Concertina. I have just lately begun to enter the field of home recording and hope in the future to be able to put some of my music and instruments together on a CD or two. Unfortunately their is no session in my area, (I have tried unsuccessfully to start one several times), and very few musicians who share my passion for this music and so I am mostly left to myself and my growing collection of CDs.
