Scottish, grew up with traditional music all around me (family members were always playing guitar and singing traditional Scottish songs at gettogethers) and have always been interested in playing myself but have never got around to it until now. Have had a fiddle and tin whistle for years, stopped and started trying to learn for the past 10 years! Now really want to try properly to learn as it would give me so much pleasure. Learned to read music when I was a kid at school and have thought about learning again but I prefer to play by ear as I can normally pick things up much quicker that way.
