I am a Brisbane* resident and getting back into the swing of things after a lengthy absence.
Not into politics or who does what better - just love the music, it's as simple as that. Although born and partly reared in Ireland, I came to Australia with my parents in search of a better life (bloody good decision). Though socially Australian, culturally I was raised Irish, hence my long acquaintance with traditional music in all forms.
But everyone has their 'thing' I guess and while my appreciation runs deep, my particular delight is plain, unaccompanied singing. Seán 'ac Dhonncha from is one whom I particularly favour but, of course, there are others. Next in line is the Irish flute and low whistle. You can have the rest ;)
*Brisbane, Australia - that large lump o' dirt south of the equator.
