I started on mandolin in sessions in Madison in the 80's. After spending some time in Doolin & Galway, I took up box & tenor banjo, and then, later, the concertina. I also play guitar & west African kora. My teachers have been Paddy OBrien & Billy McComiskey on box, Noel Hill on concertina, and Mamadou Diabate on kora. I'm self taught on mandolin & banjo. We have a trad Irish group called Traonach here in Ithaca, and we have made two CDs and play for weddings & festival around upstate NY.
