I'm an elementary music teacher from Philadelphia who plays in an Irish/rock band on the weekends. I'm classically trained and remember as a student hearing people play fiddle music and thinking, "when he grows up, he'll play classical music." Now when I hear these kids playing Paganini Caprices, I think , "when he grows up, he'll play fiddle"
