The name's Brian Morrissey. I play bodhrán, banjo, whistles & percussion & originally hail from Nenagh in Co. Tipperary. I am now living in Cork where I teach at Gaelscoil Charraig Uí Leighin. I previously lectured and tutored in Irish Traditional Music at the Irish World Academy of Music & Dance, University of Limerick from 2001-2006. I play regularly with Buille (Niall & Caoimhin Vallely & guests), John Spillane Band, Folk/Jazz group Carmina, the Tommie Cunniffe Trio, The Vallely Brothers Big Band, singer/songwriter Eoin Coughlan, solo pianist Caoimhin Vallely & occasionally with Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin, North Cregg and others. My playing can be heard on the recently released album from Diarmaid and Donncha Moynihan "The Lights of Ranzanico", and also on "Buille 2", Tommie Cunniffe - "Unbuttoned", Buille - "Buille", Lisa Hake - "Tree Over Sea", Carmina - "Crescent City" and Caoimhin Vallely - "Strayaway". I'm also guesting on banjo on the new Bobby Gardiner album due out in July 2010.
