Tom Harleman
Banjo player from Home Place, IN
While watching Gene Sheldon, a vaudeville COMIC, play the banjo on the Perry Como Show in the 1960's, Tom told his parents, "That's what I want to do when I grow up."
Tom meant the comedy.
His parents misunderstood and bought him a 5 string banjo and bluegrass lessons. Thus launched Tom's INIQUITOUS career as a musician. Playing on stage proved to be a road to poverty for him. So, Tom got a real job and now just plays for the sheer joy of it.
One of his friends said of him, "Put a banjo in his hands and he'll pick his brains out."
