Living in Boise, Idaho, married, with a couple of kids, I'm a surveyor/cadd guy in his 50's, who has been listening to and playing Irish music for 30 years or so. Too bad experience does not directly translate to ability. I play a bit of weird-tuned guitar, some mando-zouki, even more mandolin, but mostly the fiddle played in a style influenced by the music of Sligo and Donegal (if regional distinctions still exist). For a couple of years now, our town has been blessed with a friendly session. Started up by a great flute/whistle player whose initials would be P.H., this session has been responsible for pulling me up and off a long-term ITM plateau. Thanks Patrick!
Cheers,
Jerry Larsen
