The Right Bank Irish Session
The Right Bank Irish Session happens every Sunday evening, 6-9 pm. There's a core group of 6 musicians,
including fiddle, oboe, flute, low whistle, whistle, tenor banjo, mandolin, bouzouki, guitar, bodhran, and fretted acoustic bass. It's and intermediate/advanced session. We don't particularly play fast, but we do try to learn one another's tune sets. The environment is low key, quiet (just a few regulars and occasional visitors), and welcoming. We sometimes use mics if we're playing outside on the patio. Come on by and share a few tunes, or just have a listen.

Tulla Traditional Music Festival
“The King of the Concert Flute “ heads the bill at the 4th Annual Tulla Traditional Music Festival.
The 4th Annual Tulla Traditional Music Fesitval will take place from 10th – 12th September 2010. The line up has recently been confirmed and this year’s special guest is Seamus Tansey. Seamus is one of the most colourful musicians in the traditional Irish music scene today, a native of Sligo he is a wonderful flute player who has influenced a whole generation of musicians. He has also published two books “ The Bardic Apostles of Innisfree 1999 “and “ The Bardic Apostles of Innisfree Continued 2005”. No stranger to controversy, he is almost as well known for his outspoken nature as he is for his wonderful unique style of music. He has recorded extensively over four decades, more recent recordings include, Easter Snow, 1997, To Hell with the Begrudgers, 1998 and Words and Music , 2001.
Seamus can be enjoyed in concert at the Festival Concert in the Courthouse on Saturday 11th at 8.30pm, seating is limited in this venue, so early booking is strongly recommended. He will also tutor at the Flute workshop at the festival this year. This is a wonderful opportunity for young flute players to avail of a music workshop with such a master of the art. Details of workshops are available on www.tullatradfestival.com and further information relating to workshops will be available in the press in the weeks to come.
The main attraction on Sunday 12th September is the Music Recital in Tulla Courthouse at 12.30pm which features Catherine McEvoy, CaoimhĂn O’Raghallaigh and Micheál O’Raghallaigh. Following the recent release of their new C.D. “ Comb Your Hair and Curl It”, Catherine, Micheál and CaoimhĂn have toured extensively. This is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy these three exceptional musicians in the beautiful acoustic setting of Tulla Courthouse. There are some wonderful musical performances supporting the two main acts above, including Vincent Griffin, Ged Foley, John Kelly and Brian Mooney
Set dancers will be well catered for with a céilà on each night, music by The Tulla Céilà Band, Larry McEvoy, Jim Corry, Mark Donnellan and Friends, more details regarding venues and times available on our website. Finally the singing session will once again be hosted by the very popular and wonderful combination of Robbie McMahon and Nora Butler. All singers are very welcome to join this session in Teach Ól on Sunday after Mass. Sessions will take place in all of the pubs around the town from Friday evening right throughout the weekend.
Tickets available on line at www.custysmusic.com and from usual local outlets : Tulla Pharmacy and The Music Room, Tulla. Accommodation listings and details of all events are on our website www.tullatradfestival.com
