The concert will feature performances by three Boston area accordionists, showcasing the instrument in a variety of styles and across generations: Jack Conroy, Sean Gannon, and Tess Ruderman. The evening will include a tribute to the late Joe Joyce, and will include guest musicians Peter Maguire (flute, whistle), Brendan Tonra (fiddle), Helen Kisiel (piano), and Catherine Joyce (fiddle, whistle, and vocals).
Catherine’s presence at Celtic Music Monday will have another purpose: She’ll help lead a special tribute to her late father, Joe Joyce (“The People’s Choice”), who for decades delighted audiences — as well as many other musicians — with his accordion playing, singing, and unfailingly jovial spirit.
