Geraldine Cotter is officially launching the album, which features solo fiddle music along with a couple of songs from the stunning Josie Harrington. It also features Mark Donnellan of the Tulla Ceili Band on fiddle, Liam Joyce on guitar, Rodney Lancashire on bouzouki and two-times European Champion dancer, Meabh Felton.
"One of the Tradition’s great players" - Siobhan Peoples
"superb fiddling" - Maverick Magazine
"A class act on the fiddle with a natural, distinctive style" - FolkWords
"Tricia's debut solo album, 'The Lark's March' was bred of a love of the older tunes and traditions in Co. Clare, many of them having never been recorded before. It also features several of Tricia's own compositions, which in the words of Siobhan Peoples, "sound as old as the hills themselves.""
"In the time she has been residing here in Ireland, Tricia has absorbed the tradition at much deeper levels than just technique... It's not just what she can do with her hands, it's also what she chooses not to do with them... Whilst her technique is spot on, what struck me most about this recording was the depth of atmosphere she was able to create, particularly on the solo tracks [which] belie her young years and demonstrate her massive respect for what’s gone before her.”
- Siobhan Peoples (introduction to the CD)
