Fundraiser in support of the dissolved Cluain Tarbh CCE
The dissolved branch Cluain Tarbh CCE is having a fundraising concert on Friday April 4th. We do intend to keep up all our activities including our very comprehensive teaching programme. However having been dissolved our assets are seized (or at best in doubt). Plus we have to secure our own insurance (We are not covered by CCE any more). A costly business! So we are having a fundraiser next Friday in the Teachers Club, 36 PARNELL SQ. From 9PM to 1AM. There’s a great line up including Kevin and Seamus Glackin, Liam, Aoife and Donal O’Connor, Neiligh Mulligan, Mick, Fidelma and Aoife O’Brien, Nollag McCarthaigh, Fintan Vallelly, John, Aoife, Leah and Johnny Kelly…and many many more. And its only a TENNER!!! Are we mad or what! So do come along. This is what we are really about...not all the arguing! More musicians have indicated that they would like to participate so keep checking our web site for concert details as they are subject to change. http://www.cluaintarbh.net/

I think this is the correct platform to advertising an event of this sort which is attempting to soften the blow of a corrupt decission and organisation.
Re: Fundraiser in support of the dissolved Cluain Tarbh CCE
I think its the right course of action. Why rejoin an association which has treated you so badly in recent times. there is an over-emphasis on the competitive side of things in CCE and a musician is often measured by the number of medals one has. A group of like-minded people who enjoys trad for what it really is would be refreshing and exciting.
* Kevin and Seamus Glackin
* Liam, Aoife and Donal O'Connor
* Mick, Fidelma and Aoife O'Brien
* Neiligh Mulligan
* Nollaig Mac Carthaigh
* Fintan Vallelly
* John, Aoife, Leah and Johnny Kelly
* Catherine McEvoy and Edel McWeeney
* Sile Early
* and many, many more...
