Atlanta's New Fall Irish Festival

Roswell, Georgia will be the home of a new Irish Arts festival featuring traditional Irish music as well as dance, visual arts, film genealogy, theater and of course food and drink.

Fourteen bands from five states will be performing traditional Irish music and workshops will be available to festival goers for free in the fields of Irish singing, bodhrán, and Uilleann pipes. Dublin artist Margaret Field will be exhibiting her works and signing her book. Arthur Flynn, who contributed the narrative to Margert's book, will be lecturing on Irish Dance while local step and ceili dancers will be demonstrating and teaching Irish dance workshops. Also, for those of Irish heritage, Patricia Jones, author of a book on Irish in Georgia, will be assisting patrons with their Irish geneaology.

There will also be a screening of the film, The Emerald Diamond. This film, by independent filmmaker John Fitzgerald, tells the story of the Irish national baseball team.

Tickets are available at the door and will be $15 for adults, $10 for students with I.D., and free for children under 10. For more information and a complete program schedule, visit the festival website at www.AtlantaIrishMusic.com.
